Jose Munoz was asking about O scale models on the Magnorail System - I replied on my YouTube Channel klatchco56 in the following way.
Magnorail is scale agnostic - in other words the vehicles on top can be from z scale to HO. As to O scale, I would imagine that the vehicles would have to be reasonably light and freewheeling and would need a stronger magnet on the slider. Regrettably the bicycles are only available in HO scale. I will try an O scale vehicle to test out the theory - watch my blog on my website at www.magnorailoz.com.au or subscribe to this channel Basically boats and canoes etc are easier as they actually contact the surface directly. A velour velvet on the crafts bottom will reduce friction. Once again a larger neodymium rare earth magnet should provide the “sticking” power but it is all about physics - the heavier the craft the more power and grip needed to move it. I would not recommend putting a fleet of O scale boats on the Magnorail System as it is powered by 2 x O rings gripping the track as the motor turns and too much tension by stressing the pulling power would make the system slip. However 3 or 4 canoes would probably work. I use Preisser models and adapt them with either MagnorailOz sliders or magnets in the topside of the hull of craft. The canoes seen on the video https://youtu.be/IzE7jhDvOeU are in actual fact N scale models

Hello , I love your system, but I model in o gauge. Have you made any bicycle kits in this gauge as I would love to add this feature to my model, thanks Donald.

Hi Donald, sorry but no bicycles past HO scale. If you want to run O gauge on Magnorail your vehicles must have free running wheels and we recommend glueing magnets directly to the middle of the front axle so they just clear the roadbed.

AuthorClyde has been involved for many years with the Magnorail system having initially built his own layout "Echo Lakes" featuring two concepts using the Magnorail System. In 2019 he rebirthed his layout as Crater Lake featuring four Magnorail circuits plus an Ho3 train line around the perimeter which is now the Magnorail flagship for exhibitions. Archives
