Hi Rick - what you see on my website is what is left probably in the world market for the time being so unless it says sold out, I have the stock. I sell to USA - there are no American distributors

Hi, i am not sure to whom i am asking, so i apologise,

i had asked Maketis for some help regarding what thickness, and what is the best, but have received no information, Could you please help i have already brought the boat., as i have a lot of lake coverage, and i have brought the woodland scenics material for the water, my concern is
now finding on the info!!, the covering should be 0.25mm thick then mentions 0.4mm thick, and to use acetate, what would you suggest, also i would like to buy the cars and bicycle, what thickness should this be, as i will have to paint or buy some road materials, again what would you suggest. thank you. William

Check out my video at https://youtu.be/epfSQr9vmTU - I just use ordinary copy paper and print my roadbed then laminate it with a Matt laminate. If you don’t have a laminator, most business supply shops do it as a service.

I am interested in the set that has the sliders for a n scale city that is in the planning stages but I would rather have a slower motor with the set

Hi Robert
The motors can be controlled with our own controller or your train set controller. Whilst they can be run on 12v dc they are easily slowed down to whatever speed you require, from super slow to fast!

Check out the controller on our web shop. They come with USA plug or European but we now also sell a plug converter for Australia/New Zealand power points.

In responding to William Burrows regarding lake water. MagnorailOz sells the pic Lake effect on our web shop.

0.4mm works well but thicker material will work but you may have to increase size of magnets in the vehicles or boats. The PVC can be painted underneath after correct preparation - see video on klatchco56 (our YouTube channel) I have consistently found it easier to print my road surface on a standard printer - inkjet or laser. If you can do it on A3 or larger the better and then laminate them in a matte push - once again A3 preferably as you can cut curves etc easily - also videos are available on our YouTube use channel on this subject. The surface material is a key factor on lakes. I personally do not like the water mix materials as they give an unrealistic shiny reflection under lights which diminishes the Magic of the Magnorail System.

I have used, and sell in our web shop, the embossed PVC material which has an effect that looks like small ripples on a lake and diffuses any reflected light. The trick is to paint the underside but it requires some preparation otherwise the paint will just scrape off as the magnets and rack underneath gradually keep rubbing against it. The other alternative is to print your water shading and stick that to the underneath of the PVC and in that way you can control your shading better via your printer.

The thickness of the PVC and other surfaces is important as the the thicker the material, the harder the magnets have to work to drag the boats along. My Crater Lake and Echo Lakes layouts give you an idea of the effect that it is obtained. I have a YouTube video

Once again I have used a different approach to this as I am not a master modeller and if I can use other tools and technology to make up for my lack of skill, I will!

I use my laminator (A3 size). I print my road bed that I whether it be it tarmac, dirt or concrete, with kerbing, manholes, rough edges etc, onto A3 paper - If you don’t have access to an A3 printer, you can take your files to an OfficeWorks or similar outlet and have them print it and laminate it. I do recommend that you have it done in a Matt laminate, as this also enhance the Magic with out getting horrible reflections from lighting. Real roads do not reflect street lights etc and neither should your layout.

The PVC comes in large rolls 55cm x110cm and are about .5mm thick. The laminated paper ends up being .2mm thick

I hope this answers a lot of your questions.

I have been selling more product in to UK since Brexit as the European suppliers seem to be hesitant to sell to you lot. Check out prices and exchange rates though, Postage is probably a bit longer and higher, but I am always happy too advise via email as I am passionate about the Magnorail System.

Hi mate, I have just completed laying the track for a small
project that I'm doing & after measuring it with a piece of string found it to be 190cm long, it has 1 slow speed motor, 2 wheels & 4 bends & hopefully driving 3 fork lifts, do you think I'll have dramas with the length or should i carry on & give it a test run.

Hi Frank - sounds great but I would suggest a second motor will guarantee smooth running with this twists and turns. Also would suggest that you do not use sliders but just one neodymium magnet on the front axle that just clears the roadway.
